His debut film ‘Masaan’ was not a commercial success but Vicky managed to woo audience and critics with his superb performance. No, it was not just his height and boyish charm that got noticed but he was highly praised for his acting prowess too.

As an actor, Vicky showed enough maturity in picking up roles which are not run-of-the-mill type. Masaan was followed by Zuban where he perfectly played the role of a young boy, suffering from stuttering. Next, there came Raman Raghav 2.0 where he played a cop with the drug problem. 1. He is an electronics and telecom engineer who got selected for a lucrative job with handsome pay. However, he found his calling in acting.

2. After his engineering, he did an acting course from Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute.This trade change worked quite well boy!

3. Vicky’s family has a Bollywood background too. His father remained a stunt coordinator and action director in several popular Bollywood movies, whereas his brother worked as assistant director in several movies.

4. He grew up in a small Mumbai shanty. Irrespective of his filmy background, the movie was never discussed at home. This is what he has to say about his upbringing, ” I was an industry kid but was never brought up like one.”

5. His first encounter with acting? Well, he played a tree in a school play since he was the tallest kid in the class, quite a jump from tree to Masaan, right?

6. Vicky’s Bollywood career took off with Anurag Kashyap when he worked as an assistant director in both the parts of the movie ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’.
