Mr. Modi continues to be the most followed Indian on Twitter ahead of Virat Kohli. Even with a growth of 52% followers which is lower than Virat Kohli’s 61% this year, PM Modi has increased his follower base from 24.6 million to 37.5 million this year.
Rest of the list is basically dominated by Bollywood actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan.
Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan saw their follower base to grow at 40 percent each on Twitter this year. However, with 30.9 million followers Shah Rukh is ahead of Salman who has 28.5 million followers on the platform.
Twitter said this is the first time ever that Kohli and Tendulkar made it to the list of top 10 most followed Indian accounts.‘The god of Cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar also got a growth of 56 per cent in his follower base on Twitter this year.
