People call her the real-life Rapunzel, and why not, after all she is the new record holder for the longest hair on a teenager.

Abril Lorenzatti, a resident of Argentina has entered in Guinnesse Book of World Record of longest hair for a teenager, which measures 1.52 -meters-long (4 ft 11.84 in) and is almost down to her ankles. This 17-year-old girl has grown her hair since she was seven years old, refusing even the smallest of trims in that time period.

Abril’s patience to grow her hair consistently for the past 11 years is super impressive, but you will be surprised to know the reason behind her dedication? According to the Abril, it was a bad haircut experience that inspired to grow her hair so long.

One day, after watching the movie Matilda, Abril decided to make her hair look like the film’s title character which was played by Mara Wilson, but she hated that short haircut on her face immediately and decided to never touch a pair of scissor again.

“The next day when I saw myself again in the mirror I did not like what I saw. It was very short, so I decided to let it grow and not cut it again – not until it is very necessary or I really want to make a change. After four years I had it quite long again so people have since called me ‘Rapunzel’ or ‘The girl with long hair’. During all these years I only cut my ends.”– says the teenager.

When asked about her hair care routine, Abril said she has a very simple hair care routine; she washes it every other day and uses regular shampoo and conditioner. Her mother helps her detangle part of the ends which are difficult to reach and then she just lets it air dry.

In fact, she has got used to having it. The problem arises only when she walks in windy conditions and tries to climb the stairs.
