Jind district witnessed a high drama when a 60-year-old man climbed atop a 150-feet-high mobile tower demanding to meet his grandson, on Monday.
Krishna Kumar of Bahadurgarh village is father of Kamal Das and grandfather of four years old Alok. He had been longing for his Alok, who was sent to his maternal uncle’s house in Panipat by his father Kamal because of family issues. As per reports the relation between Krishna and Kamal got strained around three months ago because of certain family reasons. Krishna alleged that Kamal sent Alok away to intentionally hurt him (grandfather).

He kept on yelling atop of 150-ft tower “Kamal has been denying me to meet Alok. It is a grave injustice to me,”
Neighbors said that Krishna used to live with his elder son Kamal and was quite fond of his grandson Alok.
Later, Safidon SDM Virender Singh and police officers rushed to the tower location and pursued the protesting grandfather to come down. Safidon police station in-charge Ravinder Singh said, “On Monday, Krishna in an inebriated state climbed atop the mobile tower near his village while demanding to meet his grandson,”

It took almost five hours for police to convince Krishna to come down. He came down only after sub-divisional magistrate Virender Singh promised him to arrange his meeting with his grandson. The police said that he safely came down and suffered no injuries.
