As per Twitter, a parody or fan account name (of course, not handle!) “should not be the exact name as the subject of the account without some other distinguishing word.”
Citing terms and conditions laid by Twitter for parody and fan accounts Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced on its official Twitter handle that it will take “official action” against a particular parody Twitter account of its current CEO Dr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey.
Twitter audience is warned about this fake profile. The only official profile of Dr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey, CEO – UIDAI is @ceo_uidai . We would also be taking official action against the people who have created this fake profile to mislead people. pic.twitter.com/rZycL41ESh

The Twitter handle in question and name of UIDIAI CEO is “@ceo_uidai” and “CEO UIDAI” respectively. Aadhaar claims that ceo_uidai is the official handle of its CEO but the same is not verified by Twitter, at the time of press. Just after announcement admin of this parody account quickly changed the name to “Dr. Chulbul Pandey” from “Ajay Bhushan Pandey” while the Twitter handle remains the same.
This parody account was created recently in January 2018 and had just 5 followers initially but as soon as UIDAI announced over Twitter that they will take an official action against the account, parody account’s followers spiked up to over 200 within 20 hours surprisingly.
While the government body in its defense said that “it is an act of unauthorized access” people are calling this action an “attack on free press”.
