Mrs. Funny Bones is going to add a new feather in her hat. Actor-turned-author Twinkle Khanna has been invited to speak at The Oxford Union, the world’s most prestigious debating society.
The 43-year-old Writer-producer will address the students of the Oxford University where she will also showcase her upcoming production film, “PadMan”. Through her address, she will give an accurate and deep understanding into the story of the movie and its role in handling taboos and stigma around menstrual hygiene in India.
“PadMan” is based on the life of social entrepreneur and activist Arunachalam Muruganantham. Breaking all the stereotypes Arunachalam revolutionized sanitary hygiene in rural India that too 20 years ago.
Also featuring Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor this film stars actor Akshay Kumar in the lead role. “Padman” will be the first Indian film to be screened at The Oxford Union ever.
PadMan is slated to release on 25th of January, 2018, worldwide.
